We will initially work at establishing a professional therapeutic relationship. This will provide you with a safe, trusting and confidential space where you can truly be yourself and feel accepted in a non-judgemental way.

The therapeutic counselling is a talking therapy. The sessions are for you and they are your time and space to be heard and to try and understand what has brought you to this point in the present. 

The therapeutic space that is created will give you the opportunity to explore aspects of your Self; your feelings and thoughts and how these influence your behaviour. I will support and facilitate your exploration. We will work together at all times. I will gently challenge and expand your exploration as you continue to process. The therapy will give you a better understanding of what is going on for you and a clearer insight into yourself. You will gradually feel empowered to change and grow and thereby gain autonomy.

I regard and value each person as an individual with their own unique experiences and as your therapist I am able to use an approach that is best suited to you as an individual and for your unique experiences. We will consider your goals for therapy and create a personalised approach for your therapy.

I am trained in the following approaches:

  • Person-Centred Therapy
  • Gestalt Therapy
  • Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy- E (CBT-E)
  • Psychodynamic Therapy
